Meet Dr. Frech- Wichita Falls Orthodontist

Changing Lives by Changing Smiles

I truly love being an orthodontist.

Every day, I meet remarkable people and start building connections with them; every day, I see established patients and spend time hearing of their latest successes and sharing in their lives; and every day, I see people move from feeling self-conscious and uncertain because of their crooked teeth, to gaining confidence as their smile becomes more attractive.

Growing up, I knew I wanted to work in healthcare and, by 8th grade, I knew I wanted to be an orthodontist.

Since finishing my Master of Science and certificate of orthodontics in 1988, I have had the honor of meeting and getting to know some of the most remarkable people. Each came to me with the desire to change their life, each wanted a healthier, more becoming smile, and each was ready to make the commitment of keeping up with their home care during treatment.

It has been an incredible experience to become friends with these people as we partnered to achieve their best smile. I look forward to doing the same with you!

Education

Becoming an orthodontist required many years of advanced education, training, and hands-on experience. Before becoming an orthodontist I completed the following degrees:

  • Bachelor of Science in biology at Baylor University
  • Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry (now known as Texas A&M Health Science Center)
  • Master of Science and certificate in orthodontics at the University of Washington

I also completed the rigorous two-year Roth Williams Advanced Course on Functional Occlusion.

Continuing Education and Professional Affiliations

Like all healthcare fields, orthodontics is constantly evolving and improving. Staying current on the latest technological innovations, as well as with revolutionary materials and techniques, is critical for my patients’ health and comfort.

Each year, I complete many hours of postgraduate education to learn about new approaches, research, and procedures. I also teach orthodontic residents at the Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry and am active in the Roth Williams Study Club, Texas Orthodontic Study Club, and Invisalign® and Damon™ trainings.

I am also a member in good standing of the:

  • College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics
  • American Association of Orthodontists
  • American Dental Association
  • Southwestern Society of Orthodontists
  • Texas Association of Orthodontists
  • Texas Dental Association

Giving Back

I have long admired the Wichita Falls community and am always looking for ways I can contribute to make this a healthier, more vibrant place for all of us.

It has been an honor to serve on the local boards of the American Cancer Society, Child Advocates, and Rotary International. I am also the past president of the Church Parish Council. In addition, I support each of our local and area schools, various athletic programs, and:

  • Hospice of Wichita Falls
  • Wichita Falls Area Food Bank
  • Interfaith Ministries
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Humane Society of Wichita County

Beyond the Office

I lived here in Wichita Falls until 7th grade, graduated from high school in Plano, and returned to Wichita Falls after completing my orthodontic training. My wife of more than 30 years, Terry, and I have been happy to raise our three daughters — Lauren, Ashley, and Alycia — here.

When I’m not seeing patients or studying a new orthodontic technique, I can be found participating in church activities, out fishing, or pursuing a photography project.
